The sunken city of the Bay is a marine protected area on the bottom of the sea, located in the bay of Pozzuoli, a vast archaeological area that many people refer to as “the Pompeii submerged”. The Archaeological Park of the Baths of the Bay between Punta Epitaffio, and the promontory of the Castle of the Bay, is between 5 and 7 metres below sea level and it houses the luxurious villas and roman buildings sunk due to bradyseism, a phenomenon typical of the volcanic zones. The sunken city is a treasure chest full of treasures from the sea, between the areas of greatest value found there is the Nymphaeum of emperor Claudius, and his extraordinary sculptures ' complex and the villa dei Pisoni.
