The Vesuvius is a stratovolcano located in the south-eastern side of the city of Naples, it is placed in a dominant way of the Gulf of Naples, becoming one of the iconic symbols of the city. In 1995, around the volcano has been established by the national Park of Vesuvius, to his great interest in geological, biological and historical. The Park was also created to preserve the animal and plant species, the plant associations and forestry, the geological singularities, in fact, are found 612 species of vegetable and 227 species of animal type.
The National Park of Vesuvius consists of 11 trails with a total length of 54 km away where you can walk and climb along the path of the Great Cone, where you can experience the thrill of walking along the crater of an active volcano, and enjoy a breathtaking view over the city of Naples.
